Session Types
Plenary Presentations: There will be four plenary presentations. These are done by invited speakers that are industry experts. They are generally 1-hour in length, preceded by 15 minutes of general announcements and an introduction by the conference director.
Concurrent Sessions: For each concurrent session time block, there will be 7 presentations to pick from. Each session will be in it's own room, set classroom style. The last 10 minutes of the session will be reserved for questions and completing session evaluations. All sessions have been blind peer reviewed and include references from published literature that supports the core content. (References cited are not necessarily works of the presenter but rather published references that serve as the foundation of the work being presented.)
60-Minute Concurrents: These interactive sessions generally include a "mini-lecture" format with the use of activities and demonstrations of teaching methods, as well as guided discussions about the topic at hand.
30-Minute Concurrents: These shorter sessions are brisk and information driven, in which speakers present their research in a standard lecture format.
Round Table Discussions: Presenters in the Round Table session facilitate a conversation around the topic proposed. They will provide brief overview of the topic, followed with a short summary of their interest/experience. They then ask and receive focused questions that guide the discussion among all participants at the table. This is an opportunity colleagues to share ideas and thoughts related to a topic of common interest.
Poster Presentation: Poster presentations are generally a short summary of the presenter's research intended to engage colleagues in a dialog. We will have around 30 different posters set around the room. Presenters stay at their poster and interested participants may approach them to discuss the work as they move about through the room.
